The open waters, creeks and deep channels of the Cairns Estuary System are a paradise for anglers and fishermen alike. Cairns-Trinity Inlet is a State Marine Park, this natural habitat has numerous deep holes, mudflats, snags, and drop-offs making it a great location to catch a variety of fish species. The Cairns Estuary area has over 100kms of waterways just at our backdoor, so let us show you our backyard.
Morning 7.30 am to 12.00 pm $95.00 per person;
Atfernoon 1.00 pm to 5.30 pm $95.00 per person;
Take the morning charter and the atfernoon charter to make a full day is $180.00 per person. NOTE No lunch is provided. The boat will come back to the marina for one hour. Lunch is available from the Pier Shopping Centre.
We supply on all our charters all top quality rods & reels, all bait & tackle, bottles of water and tea/coffee and our experienced fishing guide.

Only a short distance from Cairns is numerous wrecks, reefs and islands. There are a hugh variety of fish species that inhabit these waters. Fishing methods include live-bait fishing and bottom fishing, jigging as well as lure and popper fishing with surface lures.
We supply all top quality rods & reels, all bait & tackle, lures & poppers, a delicious lunch, bottles of water & tea/coffee and our experienced fishing guide.
We ask you to bring along sunnies, sunscreen, wear a wide brim hat & long sleeve cotton shirt, bring your camera and a few beers are OK.

Your Smooth Water River Fishing adventure begins in the shadows of Mountains and takes you through Rainforest covered National Parks the rivers start out as freshwater but turn to saltwater as it moves closer to the mouth, before finally entering the ocean.
The Russell/Mulgrave River is approximately 40kms South of Cairns is lesser known yet is nestled under Queensland's highest mountain, Mt Bartle Frere. It has premier sport fishing on offer, from bait to lure to fly-fishing.

GREAT TIME ESTUARY FISHING WITH A DIVERSITY OF FISHDarryl showed the five of us a great morning fishing in the estuaries lined with mangroves along the edges of the shoreline. The trip started off with Darryl catching some bait fish from the estuary area. We caught a variety of fish from a beautiful red mangrove jack, a spotted estuary cod, a couple of jungle perch, and a small flounder. I was very surprised with the diversity of fish caught as the biodiversity is quite amazing in this area. Once these fish take the bait, they really pull down the pole with some force and won't let go; you shouldn't bother with a little nibble because if they're only nibbling, you can just sit back and wait. Even though it had rained during the latter half of the outing, we still had a spectacular time and we did not let the rain take away from our Cairns fishing experience. Their prices were very competitive with respect to other charter boats we were considering, and we felt that Fish Tales Charters drove out to farther areas of the estuary to find the optimal fishing spots! They could have stayed closer to our departure point to save on fuel, but they went the extra mile (literally) to try areas where they've had prior success. If we had more time, we would have definitely considered doing a full day.If you want to do a little fish homework before you go, make sure to check out their fish calendar on their website to see what times of the year are best for catching certain types of fish if you're looking to go for a certain species.
